Worldwide Dive and Sail has always been a keen supporter of underwater photographers and design our Siren Fleet liveaboard yachts to accommodate photographer’s needs. We continue to sponsor underwater photography competitions including the DivePhotoGuide & Wetpixel Underwater Photography Competition & the Alert Diver Ocean View Competition.
This year we are pleased to welcome back Gerald Rambert aswell as welcoming onboard Tina Gsoettner and Kevin Deacon who will each be escorting several workshops. There will also be a number of photography expeditions accompanied by Scott Geitler of uwphotographyguide.com as well as Werner Thiele from Waterworld.
We would love for you to join us and see how easy and fun it can be to improve your underwater photography techniques. We welcome users of both compact digital cameras and digital SLR's on board.
Our liveaboards have dedicated preparation areas, plenty of charge points, storage areas, large rinse tanks, computers in every cabin to allow you to download and edit your days work and a large plasma screen in the saloon to view and share your days pictures with your fellow guests.

Join Scott Geitler for a superb 13 night liveaboard safari combining both the Philippines and Palau. Spend 6 nights in the Southern Visayas then travel from Manila to Koror to board the S/Y Palau Siren for a further 6 nights. Departing from Cebu visit the reefs of Cabilao, Balicasag and Pescador island along with the macro critter sites around Dauin. Disembark in Moalboal and continue your experience in Palau, where you will dive the highlights of Blue Corner, German Channel, Ulong Channel and Peleliu, as well as a visit to Jelly Fish Lake. Kevin Deacon Photography Workshop to The Philippines AND Palau

Kevin Deacon is considered one of Australia’s most experienced, accomplished and highly published underwater photographers. His images have received international acclaim and have graced the pages of prestigious books and magazines through out the World during the past 30 years. He is also himself an author and has published numerous books including "Australia & the South Pacific" which captured images and the uniqueness of each region. Kevin's images have scooped numerous awards including the "Oceans Underwater Photographer of the Year" and "Australasian Photographer of the Year 2002", he has also received the PADI Founding Father Award in 1995.
Kevin will be hosting a series of underwater photography workshops in 2013 with the Siren Fleet, over which he will be giving presentations on Equipment, Composition, Environmental Considerations and Camera Control. The first of the series will combine two superb diving destinations into one 13 night liveaboard safari. Spend 6 nights in the Southern Visayas, Philippines then travel from Manila to Koror for a further 6 days of diving in Palau. Guests will have the opportunity to photograph a variety of genres, including macro, wide angle close up, wide angle sunlight, sihouettes & working with models, all under Kevin's professional guidance.
Kevin will also make presentations on diving photography with rebreathers and Siren Fleet will have Poseidon Recreational Rebreathers on board each yacht for guests to hire should they wish to practice this technique.
An Additional workshop is scheduled for 15th- 25th October 2013, to explore the Philippines' Visayan region in depth over 10 nights.

Tina Gstoettner in the Maldives

Christine Gstöttner is a professional photographer and vicepresident of the international NGO Sharkproject.org. She has specialised in Shark Photography and – of course – conservation.
The trip is as much about learning as it is about sharing ideas and techniques.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate photographer and learn more about shark conservation during a 10-night liveaboard trip in the Maldives, taking the northern itinerary from Baa to Male. With dives at South Male, Ari, Baa Noonu and Lhaviyani atolls, guests can expect to see grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, leopard sharks, manta and eagle rays as well as guitar rays and whale sharks.
Talks and workshops will be conducted in German, however if there is also demand for English, we will arrange that also.![]()

Matt Krumins & Olympus in the Philippines
28th September - 5th October 2013

Matt Krumins will be hosting this 7-night underwater photography workshop taking our Southern Visayas route aboard the S/Y Philippine Siren. The trip offers an ideal location for a mix of photographic genres, with wide angle scenes at Balicasag and Pescador islands as well as macro critter sites around Dauin. We will also visit the stunning reefs of Apo Island and participate in some whale shark snorkelling in Oslob, South Cebu.
Matt is a 26 year old underwater photography instructor from the temperate waters of Melbourne. Entering the underwater photograpahy scene in 2009 with his first underwater housing and camera, Matt quickly climbed the ranks as an underwater photographer and videographer after being published in several international magazines and shooting for the likes of Channel 7, SBS and ABC New York. In 2011 Matt was the winner of the Olympus 2012 Underwater Housing Ambassador online talent search. Over the past 12 months Matt has been working alongside Olympus Australia, Apollo and Dive Adventures, presenting to dive shops around the country and mentoring newcomers to the sport. Matt also runs the Deeper Than Diving temperate underwater photography page and is an active dive instructor with Academy of Scuba Australia.

Werner Thiele Escorted Underwater Photography
Leading a variety of dive liveaboard safaris, Werner will be joining Siren Fleet later this year in the Maldives and Raja Ampat!

Werner Thiele, born in Tyrol Austria, started diving when he was 18 years old and became youngest professional diving instructor in Austria. At 22 years old he started taking pictures under water as proof of his tremendous adventures for his friends and relations After winning more than 200 international photo competitions he became CMAS worldchampion in wideangle underwater photography in 2005. In 2009 he was international judge in Korea for the CMAS underwater photography world championship and today he is member of the CMAS visual commision.
