Coronavirus FAQs

Coronavirus FAQs

The recent spread of Covid-19 has many people concerned. While the risk of contracting the virus is low, we understand many customers will have questions and concerns about their upcoming holidays. We continue to monitor and follow advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as well as relevant, official governmental advice for our destinations. The health and well-being of our guests and staff continues to be our number one priority.

Please find below some information that may help to answer your questions. Our team are also on hand to answer any additional queries you may have.

What are you doing onboard your liveaboards?

Cleanliness and hygiene continues to be a top priority across our fleet. Where possible, our vessels have multiple hand sanitizer points for guests and crew. All areas are disinfected regularly by our cleaning staff and where possible, sufficient tissues and alcohol-based hand wipes will be available.

Our staff follow the advice issued by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and we ask all guests to support us by doing the same where possible:

  1. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  3. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  4. Stay home when you are sick.
  5. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  6. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

Your onboard briefing upon joining the trip will include any additional information.

What will happen if there is an outbreak onboard?

Although highly unlikely, we are prepared for this situation. If there is a suspected infection on board the sailing will be terminated immediately and medical authorities notified. Where possible, the suspected infected personnel will be isolated. We will consult with medical personnel and follow local government guidelines.

What if I contract the virus before my holiday?

If any of our upcoming guests are diagnosed with a confirmed case of Covid-19, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible with medical evidence from your doctor. We will then be happy to honour all monies paid and move your booking to a later date.

What if my country of residence bans travel to my holiday destination?

If your country of residence releases governmental restrictions banning travel to your final holiday destination, we will honour all monies paid and move your booking to a later date.

What if I am banned from entering my destination country?

If your final destination country releases governmental restrictions banning visitors from your country of residence from entering the country, we will honour all monies paid and move your booking to a later date.

What if my flights are cancelled?

If you have made a package booking with us including flights, we will contact you to discuss alternative travel options. If you have arranged your own flights, you will need to rearrange your travel to meet the liveaboard and notify us of the new details.

Should I cancel my holiday?

Where our liveaboards are able to operate as normal, you can continue to enjoy your diving holiday as planned. Our terms and conditions apply for cancellations: https://blueotwo.com/terms-and-conditions. Please see questions 3-5 for scenarios where we will be able to move your booking to a later date.

Should I be worried about booking a new holiday?

With us, the short answer is no! We’ve introduced our Corona clause so you can book with us with confidence.

Covid-19 clause

For any new bookings placed from 9th March, we will move your monies paid to a later sailing if you cannot travel due to Covid-19. To be eligible for this, one of the following must apply:

  1. You have contracted the virus and can provide medical evidence to support this
  2. Your final destination country prevents you from entering due to their governmental guidelines and restrictions on your country of residence
  3. Your country of residence prevents you from departing due to their governmental guidelines and restrictions on the embarkation point for the liveaboard

Please note that this clause currently has no end date but can be lifted at any time.

If you cannot find the answer to your question here, please don’t hesitate to contact our Reservations team who will be happy to help.
